An Artificial Heart System for Testing and Evaluation of Cardiac Pacemakers

The usability assessment of a pacemaker is complex task where the dedicated programmer for testing programmed algorithms necessary. This paper provides outcomes development and artificial cardiac system to evaluate pacemaker’s functionality. In this work, we used modular laboratory platform ELVIS II created graphical user interface in LabVIEW programming environment. electrical model heart allows signals generation (right atrium, right ventricle) monitoring stimulation pulses. set parameters generated simulation rhythm disorders as well visualization behavior real-time. results demonstrate capability proposed paced sensed solution scientists test any its pre-programmed settings pacing mode. addition, can simulate various pacemakers different working modes.
